Nowadays, as everyone knows, there are a lot of digital tools such as cellphones, personal computers, i-pad and other kinds of devices. With those tools, people can enjoy chatting with friends and family, using internet to research something or do net-surfing.
Although these technology made our life better and more convenient, on the other hand, many terrible incidents has happened like stalking, abuses on net, and murders. One of the causes of those incidents, I think, is 'anonymous', which means people don't have to use their real name when using internet. It is really good point to some extent because people tend to hesitate to write something on net with their own names, but 'anonymous' system allows people to do so without concern.
'Anonymous' system is good in terms of that :
- other people don't know who wrote
→don't specify individuals
- more and more people can chat freely
→because many people use net due to anonymous system
The picture I show above is Japanese very famous chat site "2 channel." "2 channel" is used by a lot of anonymous people anywhere and anytime, so it is really interesting to use. Personally, I have never used that site, but I always just watch their chatting because sometimes they are so funny and ridiculous, but sometimes they are so serious. I guess that is why this site is popular for Japanese people, especially for the young.
Although there are advantages, of course there are also disadvantages such as crimes and abuses. Here is the news which is about North Korea but is a little old one. According to this article, someone wrote something bad about Kim Jong-un, who is the leader of North Korea with anonymous. It said like "Kim Jong-un will resign" or "It's time to install a free direct democracy in N.K", so there are kind of radical but someone could do because it was 'anonymous.'

(This is the picture which was made by anonymous person, probably)
The problem of 'anonymous' is :
- anyone can abuse without fear
→nobody knows who wrote
- do not have to say to people directly
→lose communication skill
Therefore, recently problems with anonymous are concerned so much.
Personally, because I always use the internet for my interests and homework, I am also concerned with those problems. As stated above, sometimes I see '2 channel' but it is sometimes awful because many people say whatever they really want to say like abuses toward someone, countries or companies. They can never say such things toward them directly, but they can say on net, so I cannot say 'anonymous' system is awesome in this respect. Through a few weeks of researching on this kind of problems concerning anonymous, I would like to rethink how people should use 'anonymous' properly.
RQ
- How did people lose their communication skills?
- What kind of crimes could be created ?
- What kind of abuses which made some problems are there?
DQ
- How properly shold people use 'anonymous' system?
